You know how to bake. The hard part is knowing what will sell.

Maybe you're taking orders in your DMs, or selling at a market on Saturday. Maybe people keep telling you to sell your cinnamon buns.

Put the idea up and see who orders. Then bake exactly that many.

Selling at a market

Turn up to the market with orders already paid for.

Open your drop during the week and make your table the pickup spot. You'll know how much is already sold before you start baking, and you can still bring extra for whoever walks past.

The people who pre-ordered come to find you, which is a queue at your table. Some of them stay on your list for next week.

Frequently asked

What's a drop?

A pre-order window with an open time, a close time, and a set amount of food. Customers order and pay ahead, so you bake exactly what sold. No guessing, no leftovers, no 6 a.m. math.

How much does it cost?

Nothing until you sell something. Each order has a 5% + 55¢ service fee. Your customers cover it by default, or you can split or absorb it. Card processing is 2.9% + 30¢ and comes out of your payout, like any card sale. There are no monthly fees or contracts.

I take orders through DMs and a spreadsheet. Is this really better?

If you're doing more than a handful of orders, yes. DMs don't track inventory, collect payment, send pickup reminders, or give you a final bake list. OurCakewalk handles all of that automatically, so you don't spend the night before your bake going through messages and spreadsheets.

How do I get paid?

Through Stripe, directly to your bank. Your share of each order goes into your Stripe balance automatically and is paid out to your bank on your Stripe payout schedule.

Is this made for Canada?

Yes. OurCakewalk was built for Canadian bakers. Pricing is in CAD, payouts go to Canadian bank accounts, and customer texts are built around Canadian anti-spam requirements. Food-safety and home-kitchen rules vary by province, so those remain the baker's responsibility.
